the past week has been quite an upbeat one!

last friday was sports meet, exciting :D my favourite event was tug-of-war & fartlek! Fartlek is running with a medicine ball, its 3.5km for girls, each running 100m & 5km for boys, each running 200m. & yea my house won! & we won the best mascot again hahaha.

saturday was ntu-moe econs seminar from a whooping 9-5pm! the talks consisted of different speakers, some were relevant to us, some were not, too chim already. I practically dozed off during those chim talks hahas. the last speaker, an ang-moh guy was good, he cracked some jokes. I really wonder how all these ang-moh people manage to conduct talks and stuff so naturally & humourously. Is it in them? but the refreshments were good! there I tasted the best chocolate eclairs in my life! the cream inside was still so cold it tasted like ice cream.. spring roll was great as well :DD I took like 5 small pieces I think.

after that we had BBQ to celebrate my cousin's 20th birthday. many of his friends came.
he was practically drunk & high.
& kept asking if we loved him hahas.
making his wish during cutting cake time took him like 3mins plus, cos he kept spouting nonsense, like "& now, I shall wait for the candle to melt b4 making this wish"..."this wish is for everyone here, I want my friends to do well, I want my family to do well, the cake & the candle as well".
he even pulled his pants down a little, everyone could see his boxers.
& we just had a great time laughing.

sunday my siblings & my aunt went to my ex-tuition teacher's house. she just moved there so she invited us. & her dog is so cutee!! it's zhai zhai (: we had pizza for lunch & played Wii after that, meanwhile it was raining heavily outside.

monday till today was quite like normal school days, going to school for meeting, makeup lecture, cca. I still have undone assignments & tests to study, monday starting school already OMG! today we had band exchange with secondary schools at hougang secondary school, woke up so damn early ):

my sis just got her braces on today :D *this is the colour of her braces!

New year this year was very tiring, running about all day but dint really visit people except for relatives. In school last friday, we had new year celebration then some of us were appointed to 'Tuan Bai" the teachers. So during the sing along session, we went to find the teachers we were assigned to & present our oranges. They gave us hong bao! After everything ended, we opened up our hong baos in delight! I got $5 & I was already so happy, then I found out my other friends recieved more, one got $10, the other got bloody $18! the teachers too rich already or what hahas. but I suay la cos my teacher was only a NIE/contract teachers ): sad right.

im just so looking forward to monday! so excited to see the J1s :D
but then the canteen queue will be damn long already.
so we all enjoyed a peaceful & satisfied lunch today hahaha. *evil laugh*

Have been painting the house for the past few days!
which means...
NEW YEAR IS COMING!

... in less than 3 weeks time!
haven bought or decided on my new year clothes yet ):

Well we painted the master bedroom powder blue. Its not exactly this colour but looks a bit like turquoise, more blue plus some green. For my room we painted it yellow. haha. For the other two rooms, we just mixed the remaining blue and yellow (more yellow) to become lush green?
yea. living room is not painted yet but we are gonna use flora pink! hmms. its lighter than this pink here, just a tinge of pink. after everything is done, i'll try to take some pics! My grandpa helped us paint as well, he's like a pro! Last year, he flew to Australia to help my Aunt paint her whole house single-handedly! & you know how HUGE the apartments are in Australia, added by the fact that the exterior of the house has to be painted as well!

Was reading this book & they talked about The Theorem of Knowledge and Money.

haha I guess I should continue blogging & not be so lazy, after all its the start of the year.
my friend said that what you do on the first day of the year will be what you do for the rest of the year, so im gonna study later!
not a year to fool around liao, A's is just around the corner in like 10 months time!

Gonna fetch my sister from the hospital later. She had a minor operation on her leg, & she seems to be enjoying her stay in the hospital! Good food, aircon, tv, radio, you name it all! Maybe I should try it one day, but who likes staying in hospitals? Cos its always something bad gahh.

Im finally back to blog!
Its been like almost 3 weeks i think..

Anyway for the past 3 weeks i've been quite busy i guess.
Worked for 4 days though, at SITEX Expo (:
I worked there last year but only as a flyer distributor for Samsung.. was really quite a bad experience since I had to give out flyers & nothing else for 9hrs straight. Really dreaded it.
But this year was totally different!
It's much more meaningful cos this time im doing sales, selling laptops heheh.
Got to meet lots of people of my age & at least I can TALK to customers now, flyer jobs are really terrible.
There are so many kinds of customers laa.. some are very easy-going, some very demanding.
There were some GUYS who were very lameee.

Me: Hi Sir, looking for laptops or desktops?
Guy1: No, looking for the exit -.-
Guy2: No, looking for girls. WTF you lao-tiko!
Guy3: No, looking for you(:
Me: Yea, you've found me. LAME SHIT.

& there was this auntie who is so irritating.. she kept asking..
"eh this button is for what ah?"
"can call your technician come or not?"
"then this warranty sign up online ah?"
... the list goes on la.
HENG she got buy!

Got another guy.. he msged me the day after IT Show ended.
Actually is he call me but my phone wasnt with me, so when I saw a miss call, I msged the person to ask who are you.. I cant remember the exact conversation but its somewhat like this..
He replied: Hi XianMei, this is mike. You gave me your number ytd at expo.
Me: Oh ok, u are looking for me for.. ?
Mike: I need to check some prices of the laptops. R you working today?
Me: No, im only a part timer working for the show. You can go to their store at Funan IT Mall.
Mike: I see, is it too much if I ask you out? (: for goodness sake, I cant even recall who he is!
-I consulted my mum who was with me-
Me: Is it necessary for us to meet? Are you working or having holidays now? (to test how old he is)
Mike: hehe, i like to know more pple. Its always nice to make more friends. Im working now. ok, so he's an adult.
Me: Oic.. how old r u?
Mike: Does age really matter? Im 29. wa, chao lao guy. Anyway, did you give your number to me only or to other customers as well? damn buay bah la he.
Me: No la I was just curious. Yes i gif my number to all customers I speak too (:

10 Nov, a day to note in my life (:

An interesting day.
Met my clique for lunch yesterday at Ikea, the meatballs were fantastic wooo!
After that, went out with mary & gang to Wheeelock collect something first then headed to marina barrage at 6pm (we caught the last shuttle bus there)
The last shuttle bus back was 6.15pm so we had to take bus service 400 to go back..
SO. It was pretty dark when we left since it was 8pm & the whole area was like trees & trees around. We walked out all the way then realised it was wrong so we walked back all the way in again THEN realised it was actually a dead end so we walked out all the way again...
It was so scary cos there were sounds coming from the trees ghosts! no i think its animals, & the whole place was so dark!
Yea ok so we took 40mins just to walk out to the bus stop, by then my feet were aching..
& then theres this sucky china couple (china girl, singapore man), they were behind us all the way from the time we CORRECTLY walked out & they walked damn slowly -.-
Ok so we all reached the bus stop & waited for the bus. The china couple started kissing. Wah liew eh kiss in this kind of place, romantic meh? Go home kiss la.
Meanwhile, Mary used bus Iris to check how long before the bus would come. It said 11mins. She checked again a few minutes later, 5 mins. Then at that time the couple started to walk away, I think they wanted to walk all the way out. Then i said, "HAHA. please lor less than 5mins time the bus will come, later we on the bus liao we can wave to them & say byebye while they are still walking.. "
The bus arrived 2mins later. Why they never walk further out! Then they wont have time to run back or at least can see them running :P
So they saw the bus la & we all boarded.
In the bus, we asked the driver whether this was the stop to alight (we pressed the doorbell).
He said yes & we alighted.
THEN!
that stupid couple, now the guy went up to driver & said something. Confirm asking the same thing as us.
True enough, they alighted.
TMD they very useless la keep copying us only.. & please we how old they how old? they were like in their late 20s or early 30s liao lor (teenagers vs adults: teenagers win heheh)
& they still continued walking very slowly behind.. & soon there was no trace of them cos we reached the MRT station already.
Went to Far East to eat dinner, by then it was already 9.35.
& -- home sweet home --

By the way, I feel that the management not very good leh in marina barrage. The shuttle bus timing starts from 8am to 6pm. Who will go there in the morning when its nice at night? They should have it like 4pm to 10pm or something la. & the bus stop is so farrrr from the place, need about 20mins to walk out. Somemore the whole place so ulu one. But within the barrage itself was beautiful, you could see the whole city hall area & the most prominent Flyer hahaha.
Worth going but only once to see see (:

Went to Boon Lay Sec in the afternoon to promote some things, before that I was at Boon Lay MRT station. Went to get Soya Bean Ice Cream, mmm i've always wanted to try it.
But the experience wasnt very good.. the ice cream melted just seconds after i bought it & i had to rush through eating it. It wasnt any better with the wind blowinggg!
Back at home, my two cousins came over & we watched Rob-B-Hood.. its a really good show, very touching indeed!
Caught up a little with my cuzzie over in Australia, she taught me some Jap!
when you pick up the phone, say 'Moshi Moshi' (I knew it before)
& when the person asks you whether you're fine, & you reply that you're ok, say 'Ma Ma Des'
so cool heheh. she taught me some french too.. (:

Last night my mum, brother & I went to watch my sis's concert.. Stars@W4.
It comprises of 8 primary schools & 5 secondary schools, of which both my primary & secondary school were included (which gives me more reason to watch this concert).
It was a splendid performance! One of the best.. they all showed showmanship & performed very well. But got one school quite lousy haha.. its the choir.. a secondary school from the west (not my school). They only had 10 members, how to sing -.- & they tried to move a little but failed to cos they were so stiff..
The primary schools's standard were way higher than the secondary schools, i wonder why.. really very good. Some of them clinched Gold with Honours at this year's SYF.
The most commendable one was Keming Primary with their malay dance & Bukit View Primary with their chinese dance. The malays were all so elegant and beautiful despite their young age while the chinese looked like typical china kids dancing around, full of life and vitality! you can really imagine yourself in china, all of them were bouncing around and so flexible! ALL OF THEM COULD DO SPLITS. so cute somemore ((:

Before that, we all met at my primary school, Princess Elizabeth Primary to take the bus to the concert place. I miss my school man. Haven't stepped in there for like 3 years already, it dint really change much except for some minor things. But i really think its one of the most beautiful primary schools around.. everywhere you go there will be drawings & pictures, never plain looking. & I realised how i've grown when i visited the toilet. The sink was terribly low. Well but i still am short.. hahahs (: I saw some teachers too, they aged man :P one of my favourite teachers got married & is now the school counsellor, another got married & is pregnant!

Things have changed over this last 5 years.. I wonder another 5 years down the road what will happen to me.. hmmm.

I feel like sharing a story with your..
its entitled 'The Little Giraffe'

Once upon a time, a very long time ago, a little giraffe lived in East Africa.
This little giraffe was the first giraffe in the world. He would roam the plains...
...with the zebras, the elephants & the antelopes - though he didn't get too close to the lions.
But his best friend in the whole world was Rhino.
Every day, they would tell each other dreams & secrets.
And, every day, they would look for food, in the dusty red sands of the scorching plains.
But the sun blazed down...
...cracking the earth & withering any plants that tried to grew.

Often, there was no food to be found anywhere.
One morning, Rhino's belly rumbled like a herd of stampeding elephants.
"I'm so hungry." he moaned.

"There you are," said the not-so-little giraffe, coming up behind him.
"Hey! What happened to you?" asked Rhino, with his mouth full.
You've been stretched!
"The wise man made an amazing drink," replied the not-so-little- giraffe.
"And I grew... & grew... & grew!"
"I wonder what will happen to me?" said Rhino excitedly.
But there was no drink left. Rhino was furious.
"You could have saved me some," he snorted.
He glared at the giraffe, who turned away to eat some leaves from a tree.
"I'm going to be stuck with dry grass forever," he grumbled.
And that is why giraffes are tall and rhinos are so grumpy today.

Sian my I&R lacks generation of ideas.. I need ideas - needa squeeze my brain juice.

Yups anyway after school we went to ISD (Internal Security Department) Heritage Centre, it was one very fruitful & meaningful trip! That place is damn protected, cannot bring any recording or electrical devices & need IC to get in de. We learnt many things that we dint know exist & all are related to Singapore's history & its present makings. We learnt more about Racial & Religious Extremism, International Terrorism & Espionage (which I bet you don't know what this is!)

Under the racial & religious part, it gave me a revision of the Maria Hertogh Riots hahaha, learnt that in Secondary 2 history.. the interesting thing was that there was this New York guy who formed Children Of God (COG), a Christian religious group. He believed that one should not stick to a single sex partner (btw, he married a Singaporean). There was child sexual abuse, child & women prostitution, homosexuality & stuff like this. It was an avenue for him to earn money. The most incorrigible thing is that he had no respect & regard for the bible at all! He morphed the bible into obscene pictures of man & woman having sex & other related pictures. It was damn gross I tell you. But on top of that, what I felt was that he was really disrecpectful, how could he humiliate such a holy book?

Under the terrorism part, it was quite entertaining cos we saw for ourselves what kind of bombs the terrorists use. Among the more special ones were Mobile Phone Gun, used for short range (5-15metres), Book Bomb (usually the bookworms are the worst off ones), Letter Bomb, Parcel Bomb, etc etc. & all these bombs are easy to make, you can buy get the materials off the shelves of supermarkets (eg. screw driver) & DIY.

The Espionage part was the most informative, Espionage actually means foreign spies. Although countries seem friendly on the surface, beneath it is actually a lot of rivalry. Spies are sent to spy on the government or embassy in a certain country & its like a secret mission. Sometimes, bribery also takes place. I dint know there was such a thing hahaha. We learnt a lot more about Espionage & its really a breath taker!

We reached school at 6plus then went for dinner at JP to celebrate Tiffany's birthday! Met Miss Chew in the bus stop, she was also going to JP to meet her husband haha. Yups, it was another session of gossip & gossip & learning more about the birthday girl's life! We asked her to make a speech of how she felt during her past year being 16, since it was ending soon. (her birthday is on saturday) yeaa. just the basic girl girl talk la hahas.

Finally finished blogging, im really lazy to upload the pictures on Science Centre & brother's graduation concert! AHHHHHH.

Im doing my I&R now, suddenly got mental block, cant think of what to write so I came to blog!

Just returned from Science Centre but we couldn't finish the entire exhibition, it was just too big!

As a result, she probably may not be able to reproduce..

Just came back from leaders camp today, so exhausted cos after that we went to HuiMin's house for band meeting. Her house is so goddamned huge & so lavished. I took some pictures hehes. Courtesy of her house.

In leaders camp, there were a lot of talks & some team building games. It enjoyed it overall but I pity the guys la haha, cos before this they had boys camp & only had 2hrs of sleep. We were split into different groups & did ice-breakers. Our group is L, we named ourselves Fff..lorida! Sounds like Fff.
I learnt quite a lot of things from this camp like to be super-rational a good leader, we have to be
1. Nice to others
2. But not too nice ie. Know how to defend yourself
3. Forgiving
4. Non-Envious

There were other stuffs like Game Theory which is the distinct and interdisciplinary approach to the study of human behavior.

A Prisoner's Dilemma game can be played:
Two burglars, A & B are caught by the police & are interrogated separately.
Each has to choose whether or not to confess and implicate the other.

3 cases:
-If neither man confesses -> both will serve one year jail for carrying concealed weapon.
-If each confesses and implicates the other -> both will go to prison for 10 years.
-If one burglar confesses and implicates the other, and the other burglar does not confess -> the one who has collaborated with the police will go free, while the other burglar will go to prison for 20 years on the maximum charge.

So how to solve this game? What strategies are "rational" if both men want to minimize the time they spend in jail?
'A' can confess or he can keep quiet. Suppose 'A' confesses. Then I get 20 years if I don't confess, 10 years if I do, so in that case it's best to confess. On the other hand, if 'A' doesn't confess, and I don't either, I get a year; but in that case, if I confess I can go free. Either way, it's best if I confess. Therefore, I'll confess."
But 'A' can and presumably will reason in the same way -- so that they both confess and go to prison for 10 years each. Yet, if they had acted "irrationally," and kept quiet, they each could have gotten off with one year each.

OMG..
the couple i mentioned that committed suicide yesterday is actually my sister's primary school friend!
Her name is Mernel 15 years old from Fairfield Methodist Sec.. jumped from 10 storey with another guy Eddy Afendy 22 years old..
she even wrote a letter to her mother saying sorry.
Im quite shocked that she decided to take her life, dont know what's wrong in her life.. but she really shouldn't do this!
Can you imagine if your friend just takes her life one day & that she's gone forever? Even though i don't know her at all but i feel sad & the pain for her & her family.. visited her blog just now, a lot of people wished her RIP & may god bless her. Dont take life for granted people! Nothing cannot be solved..
Just hope she finds a new life in heaven & may she rest in peace..

had Lit Paper 2 & Human Geog paper (yea what with the anti-natalist & pro-natalist policies) today.. but i dint feel excited or happy when the last paper ended cos i dint study much & i dint do my best.. so its like not shuang the feeling like feel very bad & guilty that i dint study enough! ><

HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY!
Yesterday we had free buffet breakfast in school! There were so many stalls like Roti Prata, Mee Sian, Popiah, desert, drinks, some turkish food & more!
After that I met sherrill, lin ying & jasmine to go back to JVS, dint really get to see the teachers :( the stupid OM la, only can stay in the concourse -.-

After that I went to Vivo,
watched Journey to the Centre of the Earth, it was cool! Cos i could relate what i learnt in Geog to this, all the time i don't understand what the Geog teachers are saying ZZZ. At least now i can see the real thing hahas, Geog is interesting but its sian to study.
Bought sis's bday present too from MUEE, shall upload the pic once its her bday (:

Sis: Wa lau, you go & wear first laa.

I made two amazing discoveries this week.
1. Shaun told me im the only one in 4B (ex class) who types 'your' as 'yr' in a msg. I thought 'yr' is such a common sms language?
2. Mildred spells my name as ~~SIAN MIN~~! sounds so diff from XIAN MEI.. so off.

Some interesting cancerous food to share:
INSTANT NOODLES
. Make sure you take a 3 days break b4 eating another packet of instant noodles!
. This is cos they use wax to coat the noodles - the wax is not just in the Styrofoam containers but it coats the noodles. This is why the instant noodles do not stick to each other when cooking.
. If one were to examine the ordinary Chinese yellow noodles in the market, one will notice that, in their uncooked state the noodles are oily. This layer of oil prevents the noodles from sticking together.

SATAY
. If you all eat Satay, don't ever forget to eat the cucumber, because eating Satay together with carbon after barbequing can cause cancer.
. Cucumber should be eaten after we eat the Satay because Satay has carcinogen (a cancer causing element) but cucumber is anti-carcinogenic.
. So don't forget to eat the cucumber the next time you have Satays! (:

PRAWNS & VITAMIN C
. Do not eat shrimp/prawn if you have just taken vitamin c pills!
. This will cause you to die in Arsenic (As) toxication within hours.
I dont really believe this lei.. so exaggerating meh? O.o

last week was leaders camp. damn cool la! the LNMass was transformed to a club, you know the loud music & bright lightings with those kinda smoke. the school hired professional people to BBQ as well, we dint have to do it ourselves :D
during the break.. Yensze, Mel & I went to have some fun!
